Presentation examining the factors influencing the growing demand for bilingual teachers in the United States, but it also highlights the ongoing shortage of bilingual teachers. It was presented at the 11th annual Jalisco-Texas Conference which was held virtually on March 30-31, 2023.

Data management plan for the grant "Nuclear Safety Testing and Analysis Research (NSTAR) Fellowship Program at the University of North Texas." The proposed NSTAR fellowship program at UNT aims to reinforce the workforce in the nuclear energy safety community by engaging the selected fellowship students (fellows) with interdisciplinary education and research. The overarching theme and research focus of the proposed NSTAR program is acoustics-based non-destructive testing and analysis and nanoparticle processing for thermal management applications. An interdisciplinary research team will investigate these research areas with backgrounds in mechanical engineering, material science, and/or physics. The program will fully support two fellows over four years including full tuition and stipends.

Article asserts that the delivery of consistent and accurate fine-resolution data on biodiversity using metabarcoding promises to improve environmental assessment and research. The authors propose a novel hierarchical approach to recovering abundance information from metabarcoding, and demonstrate this technique using benthic macroinvertebrates.

Presentation highlighting Project SUCCESS in Language and Literacy Instruction which is a Title III National Professional Development Program at the University of North Texas funded by the U. S. Department of Education. The project is directed by the Bilingual Teacher Education Program of the University of North Texas. UNT works in partnership with Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Region 10 ESC, the Latino Family Literacy Project, and the Intercultural Development Research Association for this project. The goals of the project are to prepare bilingual and ESL pre-service teachers, to provide professional development for in service teachers to improve their instruction for English Learners (ELs) and to engage teachers with families and communities. Presentation on a study that sought the voice of the bilingual teacher through their lived experiences in relation to the success of Hispanic emergent bilinguals in school. This inquiry sought to uncover what practices bilingual teachers use to support their students’ academic and socio-emotional needs. Article describes how two water-soluble zinc(II) phthalocyanines substituted with two or four permethylated β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) moieties at the α positions have been utilized as building blocks for the construction of artificial photosynthetic models in water. The hydrophilic and bulky β-CD moieties not only can increase the water solubility of the phthalocyanine core and prevent its stacking in water but can also bind with a tetrasulfonated zinc(II) porphyrin (ZnTPPS) and/or sodium 2-anthraquinonesulfonate (AQ) in water through host–guest interactions.

Article describes how the perceptions of personal and professional identity development from four Black women counselor educators were examined through a collaborative autoethnography methodology. Article claims that rosuvastatin (RST) is a poorly water-soluble drug responsible for limited in vivo dissolution and subsequently low oral systemic absorption (poor bioavailability). The results of inverse Kirkwood–Buff integrals showed the PS of RST by PEG400 as observed in all studied ratios of the binary mixture.

Article describes how high energy synchrotron X-ray diffraction was used during tensile testing of an as-cast eutectic AlCoCrFeNi2.1 high entropy alloy. The authors determine for the first time the volume fractions of existing phases, and they further detail their role on the alloy deformation behavior.

Authors of article conduct a content analysis of research on technology use for teaching mathematics to students with disabilities. They applied word networks and structural topic modeling of 488 studies published from 1980 to 2021. Results showed that the words “computer” and “computer-assisted instruction” had the highest degree of centrality in the 1980s and 1990s, and “learning disability” was another central word in the 2000s and 2010s.
