Mr. Gatz instead asks Mr. Kempner to reconsider which bank shareholders meeting he will attend or to send Mr. Blackshear in his stead so the meeting reaches quorum.

Mr. Graber has been informed that admission to that dormitory would be easier if his daughter had a 32nd Degree Mason she was related to in the state of Texas. Mr. Graber then asks Mr. Bertig to help him find someone to put in a good word for Carol.
