Patent for a new and improved cotton planter. This design "consists in a cotton planter constructed with a funnel-shaped hopper, supported by a plate and frame carried by wheels, and an axle driven by a worm and worm-wheel, and held erect by a stationary tube having a flaring upper end, and carrying the furrow-opening plow. With the rotating hopper is connected a screw extending into the stationary tube, so that the seed will be fed out by the revolution of the said hopper" (lines 20-29).

This design includes a button to be attached to the desired firearm, and the button is designed to fit into a groove attached to a strap. The strap is secured around a person or horse, and a tug at the handle of the firearm causes springs in the groove to release the button, thus freeing the firearm quickly and easily.
