Copy of transcript for a letter from Thomas Kirkham to Stephen F. Austin, in which Kirkham informs Austin that his daughter has finished school and wishes to become a teacher or a tutor for female pupils. Kirkham asks Austin for his opinion on the prospect of Kirkham's daughter relocating to the Austin colony and offering her services there.

Report issued by the Bureau of Mines over engineering studies of water injections in Louisiana oil reservoirs. As stated in the introduction, "this Bureau of Mines report presents operating practices and results of pressure maintenance and secondary recovery by water injection or by water injection supplemented by gas injection" (p. 1). This report includes tables, and maps.

Diary of Henry J. Durgin, Chief Bugler of the 1st N. H. Cavalry from Franklin, Louisiana, a leather-bound book with small paragraphs written under a typed heading for each day of 1864. Durgin served in the Civil War at Camp Ford.
