The family then poses in front of a house (06:54-10:07) and children play in the snow (10:07-11:18). The family goes on a road trip to the desert including footage of the McDonald Observatory and Summit of Mount Locke, a roadside hotel, riding on an aerial tramway (possibly the Sandia Peak Tramway) with a view of the Million Dollar Museum, and a ride on the Sad Monkey Railroad in Palo Duro State Park (11:18-16:07). The family goes swimming and attends a child's birthday party (16:07-18:46), goes on a boat ride and fishes at a boat house (18:46-20:16), the Cochran children pose in their Easter clothes (20:16-21:00), and the family goes boating and swimming (21:01-22:58). In 1968, then-Vice President Hubert Humphrey won the Democratic Party’s nomination for president and embarked upon a national tour to build support for his candidacy. Included amongst the many stops he made were visits to Fort Worth and Dallas, captured in this footage. After landing at Carswell Field, Humphrey visits with several Texas politicians, including Governor of Texas John Connally and United States Congressman Jim Wright of Fort Worth. He then delivers speeches at a public rally and a campaign dinner. Next, Humphrey flies to Dallas, where he speaks at another campaign rally. First Lady Lady Bird Johnson also makes an appearance.

Following the 1960 presidential election, a special election was held to fill the United States Senate seat vacated by then Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson. This telecast from May 1961 promotes the candidacy of Jim Wright, who was then serving in the United States House of Representatives from Texas’ 12th congressional district. The election drew a field of 71 potential candidates, with Republican John G. Tower narrowly defeating interim appointee and Democrat William Blakely in a runoff election. (As a result, Tower became the first Republican senator from Texas since Reconstruction.) Wright finished in third place.
