Confinement of antiprotons in the electrostatic space charge of positrons in a model of the ALPHA antihydrogen trap
This article details the equilibrium of a positron plasma in a model of the ALPHA apparatus that is computed using a finite-difference method. The positron plasma in the model extends to axial magnetic mirrors in absence of an octupole field. Formation of a three-dimensional electrostatic potential well is found to occur self-consistently. Well depths under various conditions are evaluated. Also, the equilibrium with an antiproton plasma confined in the potential well is computed.

Connecting Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes: Meso-scale Simulations of Multiphase Accretion Flows
Data management plan for the grant, "Connecting Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes: Meso-scale Simulations of Multiphase Accretion Flows." It proposes to study how gas flows onto the supermassive black holes in massive galaxies and galaxy clusters. They will perform numerical simulations with a nested zoom-in technique, focusing on the mesoscale accretion flows from the Bondi radius to hundreds of Schwarzschild radii. They will predict the mass flux of different phases, as well as their angular momentum and magnetic flux.

Deep Minimum and a Vortex for Positronium Formation in Low-Energy Positron-Helium Collisions
This article finds a zero in the positronium formation scattering amplitude and a deep minimum in the logarithm of the corresponding differential cross section for positron–helium collisions for an energy just above the positronium formation threshold. Results show that there is a valley in the logarithm of the positronium formation differential cross section that includes the deep minimum and also a minimum in the forward direction.

The Deepest X-Ray View of High-Redshift Galaxies: Constraints on Low-Rate Black Hole Accretion
