Interview with Eddie Griffin, an African-American historian and activist from Fort Worth, Texas. Griffin discusses his family origins, growing up in segregated Fort Worth, the Fort Worth economy and discrimination, white neighborhoods, attending I. M. Terrell High School, black newspapers and histories, JFK's visit, attending Arlington State College, being drafted into the Army and stationed in Germany, becoming a revolutionary, robbing a series of banks, being incarcerated, activism in prison and political prisoners, returning to civilian life, the rediscovery of his faith, and his career as a local historian. In appendix are several photographs of Griffin and his family, and selections of literature featuring Griffin.

Interview with Laura Nevada Weger, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class, Cryptologic Technician, and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, for the Women Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Weger's personal experiences of childhood, her family history of military service, reasons for joining the Navy, reaction from her family to her enlistment, training as a cryptological technician, first duty station at Whidbey Island, Washington. Weger talks about the lack of women in unit, rate of pregnancy among unit, sexual assault in the Navy, being a sexual assault victim advocate at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, deployments aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, the Shellback Ceremony and hazing, her activity in veterans groups, the civilian reaction to service, reflections on military service, her second duty station at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, and advice for future female service members. Additionally, she includes her thoughts on the lifting of combat exclusion ban on women, working at a joint command, integrated barracks, women on submarine duty, the Naval medical system, and her grandmother's service in the Women's Army Corp during the Korean War. The interview includes an appendix with photographs and a list detailing Weger's military career.

Interview with Marjorie Rae Lutkins Babcock, Women's Army Corps Enlisted, Keypunch Operator, and Korean War-ere Veteran, for the Women Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Babcock's personal experiences of childhood in Michigan, basic training at Fort Lee, Virginia, duty assignments at Governor's Island, New York and Hanau, Germany, her temporary duty assignment at the Pentagon, her placement in the Veterans of Foreign War's Women's Auxiliary despite veteran status, and her brother's experience in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Additionally, the interview includes her reason for enlisting, her family's reaction to her enlistment, impressions of post-war Germany, advice for future women service members, her views on service and women in combat, and her daughter's views of the military and the military service of her mom and other family members. Interview with accountant and Army veteran Frederick R. Freeman. The interview includes Freeman's personal experiences about the European Theater during the World War II, basic training, advanced infantry training, initial combat on the front lines in France, survival techniques under combat conditions, the Ardennes Offensive, and the Battle of the Bulge. Freeman also talks about the effects of combat losses and acclimation of individual replacements, his bout with combat exhaustion and reassignment to a replacement depot as a clerk, his participation in the Army of Occupation, and postwar adjustments to civilian life.

Interview with Army veteran Archie Gantt. The interview includes Gantt's personal experiences about the European Theater during World War II, boyhood in central Texas, basic training, shipping to England, combat on the Siegfried Line, and the Battle of the Bulge. Additionally, Gantt talks about leadership problems, combat living conditions, Officer Candidate School and commissioning, and his postwar war service in Europe.

Interview with Carl Horton, an operating room nurse and Vietnam Army veteran. In the interview, Horton describes his experiences while serving as an Army nurse during the Vietnam War. He goes in depth about his assignments, which include Yokohama, Japan and Dong Tam and Can Tho with the 3rd Surgical Hospital. Horton also discusses living accommodations, hospital facilities, American relations with the South Vietnamese military personnel and civilians, "short time" and out-processing, leisure time, and recreational activities. He also discusses the adjustments that he had to make after the war was over and his continuing work with the Veterans Administration.

Interview with Robert A. Lawyer, an anesthetist and Army veteran of the Vietnam War. In the interview, Lawyer recalls memories from when he served as an Army nurse in Vietnam. He discusses what it was like working in the field, and includes details concerning living accommodations, operating room experiences, battle casualties, American relations with Vietnamese civilians, the treatment of prisoners-of-war, entertainment, and recreational activities. Lawyer also recollects memories of Nurse training at the Bellevue Hospital in New York City, Tet Offensive, and his assignment to the 3rd Field Hospital in Saigon, South Vietnam. He explains what it was like adjusting after the war was over.

Interview with William Dunphy, an anesthetist and Army veteran from the Vietnam War. In the interview, Dunphy describes some of his experiences while serving as an Army nurse during the Vietnam War. Dunphy discusses what it was like working at the Army hospital in Saigon, Vietnam, and includes details that concern general living accommodations, hospital facilities, relationships between doctors and nurses, work schedules, alcohol abuse by military personnel, drug problems, and American relations with Vietnamese civilians. He also recalls post-war adjustments and a rest and recuperation trip to Hawaii.
