A postcard from her grandmother to Johnie Louise Bruyere on December 22, 1928. The front has a drawing of a window seat, with a Christmas wreath and stocking hung on the window. It is snowing outside. The front reads: "Happy, Happy/all day through/Merry Christmas!" The note on the back reads: "This is wishing you and each one of Merry X-mas and a happy new-year loveingly [sic] Grand Ma Ma."

A postcard from Louisa Messimer to Johnie Louise Bruyere on December 22, 1928. The front of the card has a drawing of a holly branch with red berries and two red birds sitting on it. It reads: "Christmas Wishes. Never was Christmas Day more glad/Than the one I wish for you;/Never were wishes more sincere/From a heart more fond and true." The note on the other side reads "Dear sweetie, I hope old Santa's good to you this year and - hoping you a happy X Mas."

He went to a U.S.O. show with Wilbur Crawford and Harmon Gilbreath the other night, and he tells his parents that it's up to them whether or not they sell their house, although if they decide to build a new one he wishes he could be there to help out.

He comments on the weather and doing his laundry himself, rather than sending it to the G.I. laundry and risking not getting his clothes back. He also notes that he has been away from home for almost a year.

He had a letter from the mother of a friend who was in the Pacific, and whose other sons might be drafted soon. Willis plans to go see Wilbur Crawford soon, and is pleased that his tent now has a radio and the battalion has a laundry.

Letter from John Todd Willis, Jr. to his parents Clara and John T. Willis, Sr. on April 22, 1944. This letter is marked Letter 1 of 2. He went to an Texas A&M meeting for Muster Day and saw some men he knew from home. He guesses most of the men from his graduating class are in the Pacific. He briefly mentions seeing Vesuvius erupt, as well as spending time with his friend Harmon Gilbreath and Wilbur Crawford.
