Handwritten letter from John J. Lergenmiller, Jr., to Harris Kempner regarding their recent phone conversation and a loan from H. Kempner intended for the purchase of a four-story townhouse in downtown Savannah. Lergenmiller goes on to explain and that he would like someone from H. Kempner to come to Savannah to view the property and assess potential investment opportunities.

Letter from Margaret Mitchell to Paul Kruse written in response to Kruse's letter congratulating Mitchell on the success of her book Gone with the Wind and asking for Mitchell to autograph Kruse's copy of the book. In her response, Mitchell thanks Kruse for his remarks about her novel noting that she appreciated the help of librarians in her research while writing the novel. She states that she will not sign Kruse's copy of the book as she can no longer keep up with the high demand for autographs. The letter is signed "Margaret Mitchell Marsh" with her married name, Mrs. John R. Marsh, in parentheses. The letterhead reads "Margaret Mitchell" in blue ink.

A letter addressed to Public Relations, Delta Air Lines, Atlanta, Georgia, from T. N. Carswell, dated November 20, 1958. Carswell expresses his appreciation for help in catching a flight advising that Miss McKool was the friendly and charming messenger doing this especial service. He requests they use the check to purchase candy or a rose for McKool noting that long ago, someone said "sell a loaf and buy a rose, for the soul too must be fed".
