The back of the photograph proclaims, “Water fulling over a farm pond dam. An adequate spillway was not provided for the dam and excess water must of necessity flow over the crest. The dam is cutting and will eventually be ruined. This picture was taken in the rain immediately after an inch of water had fallen in half an hour."
