A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Walter G. Jennings, Manager Southwestern Region, Frigidare Division, General Motors Corporation dated June 16, 1948. Jennings replies to the letter from Carswell dated June 14 regarding the request made for his approval to publish his address made to the Exes of Hardin-Simmons University. He advises of an attached copy of a letter which he addressed to Dr. Richardson. Typewritten on business letterhead bearing SURVEY BOND watermark.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Blanche [Mrs. Earl] Darden], Abilene, Texas, dated March 16. Blanche explains that she has been in the hospital unexpectedly and that Dr. Seth Cox will operate on her jaw meaning she will be off work four or five weeks. She apologizes and offers options of payment on her contract with Carswell.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from C. V. Taylert, Asst. to Treasurer, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, dated September 16, 1942. Taylert replies to the letter from Carswell dated September 10th in which he requests to pay bills as they accrue. Taylert outlines a method of payment which Cornell will accept. Copy to Mrs. Anna F. Carswell, 5th Division Commander, The American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Charlie Maisel, Department Commander, The American Legion, Phillips, Texas, dated October 16, 1942. Maisel expresses his confidence in the advice he receives from Carswell and requests that Division Commanders write a monthly editorial for the Texas Legion News advising of the details and deadlines.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from E. J. Miller, Lawyer, Brownwood, Texas, dated July 16, 1941. Miller advises Carswell that he is enclosing a copy of the letter which he is writing to Dr. Jeff Davis. He advises that the letter might be of interest since Carswell phoned yesterday afternoon. The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. M. Collier, Administrator, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated October 16, 1958. Collier issues a reminder for the Board Meeting and advises of the need for a two-thirds majority to be present for the loan approval. Dinner will be served.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Ethel and Glyn Quade, Sagerton, Texas, dated November 16, 1970. The Quades express their appreciation for the gifts of the Ideals Book and the fruit cake and issue an invitation to Carswell to be with them on Thanksgiving day.

Allcorn replies to a letter from Carswell and affirms his support of Carswell's candidacy for District Commander noting that he is not able to promise Carswell the Comanche vote discussing, at length, past and future politics of the Legion.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Jas. L. Sullivan, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Abilene, Texas, dated February 16, 1952. Sullivan congratulates Carswell on his re-election to the Board of Deacons.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Taylor County Draft Board, Abilene, Texas, from Jas. H. Robertson, Continental Oil Company, Aspermont, Texas, dated February 16, 1942. Robertson requests a personal favor from Carswell to help place Miss Mildred Herring into a job in Abilene noting she was offered a job in Washington but that it is necessary she stay in Abilene. The reverse side of page 2 of this letter includes a handwritten name and address for James Claude Reid, 897 Cedar, Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated February 16, 1942. Davis complains about the lack of communication from Pastors after services are held in their churches, advises that their Executive Committee approved the plan that they had discussed with Dr. Jenkens when in Abilene and notes an enclosed check to Carswell for reimbursement for his Belton trip. In postscript, Davis requests Carswell's opinion regarding asking Merkel, Tuscola and Caps to join their field day at Abilene.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 16, 1943. Davis advises of the changes in the Curfew Bill making it a "farce" and, therefore, requests that they write to their representatives urging them to support the amendment with an eleven o'clock closing hour and no sales on Sunday.

A letter addressed to Mr. Tom N. Carswell, Fifth Division Commander, The American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Jennings Monk, 21st District Commander, Kerrville, Texas, dated November 16, 1942. Monk expresses his regret that the original letter with names for the committees got lost. He confirms a meeting, scheduled for that night, to be held to boost the lagging membership in Kerrville.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Joseph T. McDonald, Nevada State Journal, Reno, Nevada, dated December 16, 1941. Joseph T. McDonald replies with a short definition of Americanism and then states "Why expand on the theme? Americanism made itself felt within an hour after the Japanese attack on Hawaii."

A letter written to Major T. N. Carswell, 10th Bn., Texas Defense Guard, Abilene, Texas, from Neill H. Banister, Lieut. Col., Infantry, Asst. to the Adjutant General, Austin, dated July 16, 1941. Brigadier General J. Watt Page expresses his and the Department's appreciation for the splendid, unselfish, and patriotic service performed for the Texas Defense Guard by Carswell and the other inspectors, voluntarily and without cost to the department, saving time and funds.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Parramore Post No. 57, American Legion, Abilene, Texas, from Louise Jennings, Secretary to the President, The University of Redlands, Redlands, California, dated December 16, 1941. The letter reports that President Anderson requested that a copy of his address "The American Pattern" be sent in reply to the letter from Carswell requesting a definition of Americanism.

A letter written to Mr. Carswell from Louise, dated December 19 (1962?). Louise expresses her appreciation for the fruit cake sent by Carswell for Thanksgiving. She gives a update on their family holiday activities, that Aunt Callie stayed on which enabled the Bevills to sell their ranch and advises on Leslie Bevill's health issues.
