Forging Connections at the University of North Texas to Comply with Funder-Mandated Public Access to Research Data
Presentation highlighting the collaboration between the University of North Texas Libraries and the Division of Research and Innovation to proactively document and provide stable, long-term access to information about federally-funded grant projects received at UNT, but more importantly to act as a centralized location for accessing research and grant artifacts including documentation and datasets created during the award period. sCrop: A Novel Device for Sustainable Automatic Disease Prediction, Crop Selection, and Irrigation in Internet-of-Agro-Things for Smart Agriculture
Accepted Manuscript version of an article introducing the innovative idea of the Internet-of-Agro-Things (IoAT) with an explanation of the automatic detection of plant disease for the development of Agriculture Cyber-Physical System (ACPS). An accuracy of 99.24% is achieved by the proposed plant disease prediction framework.

Lipophilic signals lead to organ-specific gene expression changes in Arabidopsis seedlings

VvLAR1 and VvLAR2 Are Bifunctional Enzymes for Proanthocyanidin Biosynthesis in Grapevine

The Fractal Tapestry of Life: III Multifractals Entail the Fractional Calculus
This article is the third essay advocating the use the (non-integer) fractional calculus (FC) to capture the dynamics of complex networks in the twilight of the Newtonian era. Herein, the focus is on drawing a distinction between networks described by monfractal time series extensively discussed in the prequels and how they differ in function from multifractal time series, using physiological phenomena as exemplars.

Instructional Videos as Tools for Student Learning: Purpose and Practice
Presentation on the creation and use of instructional videos in the UNT Libraries. This poster presentation describes their video production process, how these videos have supported student learning, and an example of an instructional video we created. Instructional videos are one major online resource that the University of North Texas Libraries provides to students. Librarians create a variety of online videos on topics that supplement course materials and instruction sessions. It was presented at the 2021 Texas Library Association (TLA) Library Instruction Round Table Annual Summit which was held virtually on October 15, 2021.

Plexcitonic interactions in spherical and bi-pyramidical Au nanoparticles with monolayer WSe₂
Article describes how plasmons associated with zero-dimensional (0D) metal nanoparticles and their synergistic interactions with excitons in two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors offer opportunities for remarkable spectral tunability not otherwise evident in the pristine parent materials, which necessitates an in-depth study elucidating the nature of the plasmonic and excitonic interactions, jointly referred to as plexcitons in order to understand the foundational aspects of the light–matter interactions in hybrid 0D–2D systems. The authors examine the plexcitonic interactions of van der Waals (vdWs) hybrid structures composed of 2D WSe2 and 0D Au nanoparticles (Au-NPs) in their spherical (Au-Sp) and bi-pyramidical (Au-BP) architectures, which demonstrates that geometry-mediated response of the AuNPs provides another degree of freedom to modulate the carrier photodynamics in WSe₂.

Effects of an exogenous ketone ester using multi-omics in skeletal muscle of aging C57BL/6J male mice
Article shows that oral R,S-1,3, butanediol diacetoacetate (BD-AcAc2) consumption results in body weight loss or maintenance with moderate increases in circulating ketones. The purpose of this study was to determine if a diet consisting of 25% BD-AcAc2 (ketone ester, KE) would alter body composition, transcriptional regulation, the proteome, and the lipidome of skeletal muscle in aged mice.
