[Letter from Jack Davis and Bill McCarter to Marla Price, January 15, 1996]

Photocopy of a letter from Jack Davis and Bill McCarter, co-directors of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Marla Price, Director of the Modern Art Museum. The letter describes the work done by Davis and McCarter, through the use of the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation grant, to produce portfolios using images from the five museums that are apart of the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts consortium. The grant allowed them to produce 500 copies of the portfolio, which were given at no cost to the schools in the consortium for educational purposes, however, because of the popularity of the portfolio and the limited number of the original publication they have been contacted by vendors who have interest in producing the portfolio commercially. Davis and McCarter write about what a great opportunity this could mean when it comes to resources for the continued work of the Institute, yet one issues is that the Museum has to give them written consent to reproduce the images and content.
