McKenzie] regarding keeping Carswell on the Board in the fight against liquor. Jenkens handwrites a postscript advising Carswell of his having spoken with McKenzie and that McKenzie is "powerful glad" Carswell will still be on his board.

Holt announces a meeting of the Dry Forces of their County to be held at the First Presbyterian Church and requests of Riddle that a team be sent to assist in the beginning of the work.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from, James W. Middleton, First Baptist Church, San Angelo, Texas, dated July 15, 1942. Middleton assures Carswell that he and the pastor of the First Christian Church want to have a campaign under Carswell's leadership but advises that some preachers will not take a stand. In a postscript Middleton advises of a sermon the deacons are publishing to build sentiment against this "terrible business".

Jenkens advises McKenzie as to why Carswell should continue to serve on the executive committee summing up the reasons with the statement, "To him, more than any other man, is due the working up of the interest in Texas resulting in getting the bill passed to put the Doctors and Drug Stores out of the liquor business."
