Information published in the Texas Register includes proposed, adopted, withdrawn and emergency rule actions, notices of state agency review of agency rules, governor's appointments, attorney general opinions, and miscellaneous documents such as requests for proposals. After adoption, these rulemaking actions are codified into the Texas Administrative Code.

Article presents a qualitative-based study evaluating how youth apply learned water safety concepts when posed with a hypothetical aquatic scenario.

This article is the third essay advocating the use the (non-integer) fractional calculus (FC) to capture the dynamics of complex networks in the twilight of the Newtonian era. Herein, the focus is on drawing a distinction between networks described by monfractal time series extensively discussed in the prequels and how they differ in function from multifractal time series, using physiological phenomena as exemplars.

Data management plan for the grant, "New approach for identification pHFO networks to predict epilleptogenesis." About 40% of epilepsy patients fail to control seizures after treatment, and currently there is no treatment that can prevent epilepsy. The goal of this study is to perform multi-scale electrophysiological investigations combine with advanced computational algorithm development to understand the characteristics of the pathological brain networks during the latent period of epilepsy. The findings of this project will lead to a better understanding of the network mechanisms of epileptogenesis and suggest novel approaches to prevent the process of epileptogenesis.

Audio interview from the Wes Phelps Podcast Interviews Collection recorded on September 15th, 2022 in Austin, TX. Phelps interviews Lauren Gutterman, discussing her research on queer women in the post World War II period. Gutterman discusses the ways in which women during the post-war period, despite being married to men, engaged within the lesbian community, often forming romantic and sexual relationships out of intimate friendships. She discusses major differences in the social experiences of queer men and women, as well as experiences of coming out in the 1950s and 1960s. Gutterman continues to discuss changes in divorce and child custody laws which occurred in the 1970s and their effects on the lives of women. The custody trial Risher v. Risher is heavily discussed, as well as the supreme court case Roe v. Wade.

Data management plan for the grant, "Fueling Resilience: A risk-based comparison of post-fire programs and recovery outcomes in Northern California." This study investigates post-wildfire recovery programs and outcomes in two neighboring, but vastly different counties in Northern California (Lake and Sonoma counties), which have experienced wildfire losses nearly every year since 2015. Working with community leaders and local governments, this study 1) documents the method, timing, and spatial extent of wildfire risk reduction efforts and recovery and 2) determines how these risk reduction efforts resulted from resources and programs available to communities. Next, the study offers a comprehensive post-wildfire examination of how wildfire recovery changes future wildfire exposure and sensitivity through 3) stochastic modeling of the potential risk reduction outcomes of recovery efforts. Finally, the study draws together model results and community perspectives to 4) identify transferable best practices for enhancing social-ecological resilience to wildfire.

Data management plan for the grant "Elucidating Cyclic Fatty Acid Biosynthesis and Compartmentalization to Improve Cottonseed Value." Cotton is an important oilseed crop in the U.S. economy. Cotton seed and other vegetative tissues produce unusual chemicals called cyclic fatty acids that have wide-ranging potential uses from high-value industrial properties to nutrition-oriented uses. This project focuses on identifying genes that contribute to the production and storage of these high value bioproducts.

Article describes how plasmons associated with zero-dimensional (0D) metal nanoparticles and their synergistic interactions with excitons in two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors offer opportunities for remarkable spectral tunability not otherwise evident in the pristine parent materials, which necessitates an in-depth study elucidating the nature of the plasmonic and excitonic interactions, jointly referred to as plexcitons in order to understand the foundational aspects of the light–matter interactions in hybrid 0D–2D systems. The authors examine the plexcitonic interactions of van der Waals (vdWs) hybrid structures composed of 2D WSe2 and 0D Au nanoparticles (Au-NPs) in their spherical (Au-Sp) and bi-pyramidical (Au-BP) architectures, which demonstrates that geometry-mediated response of the AuNPs provides another degree of freedom to modulate the carrier photodynamics in WSe₂.

Article discusses how China implemented the first phase of its National Healthy Cities pilot program from 2016-20. Authors recommend aligning the Healthy Cities initiative in China with strategic national and global level agendas such as Healthy China 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing an integrative governance framework to facilitate a coherent intersectoral program to systemically improve population health.
