Regarding that North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts has recently become an affiliate distributor of the National Gallery of Art, receiving a selection of resources from the National Gallery in Washington, D.C., including slide programs and videocassettes. The resources are located in NTIEVA's office for free loan to consortium members and the art faculty of UNT. Programs on the slides cover, artists, museums, architecture, painting and other extensive materials.

The Arts Education Assessment Consortium, AEAC, is administered by the Council of Chief State School Officers to all the RIG states. The Center is providing support to the AEAC to develop assessment prototypes in the visual and performing arts and believes that if the DBAE, discipline-based art education, is embedded in the assessment prototypes it will strengthen the impact within the state and nationally. In regards to Wynn Seale Fine Arts Magnet School applying for an innovative education grant from the Texas Education Agency and that North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts endorses the proposal. They write that NTIEVA has had a collaborative relationship with Corpus Christi ISD since the summer of 1993 and that they will work with CCISD to provide staff development workshops, on-going training for CCISD personnel and serve as network with other art educators across the state. At the request of their major funders, NTIEVA are expanding to include districts outside of the DFW / North Texas locations and are going to consult with CCISD for collaborative opportunities.

A thesis submitted by Dr. Jack Davis, Dean and Professor, School of Visual Arts, University of North Texas, and Dr. William McCarter, Regents Professor of Art, School of Visual Arts, University of North Texas, titled "An Experiment in School/Museum/University Collaboration," January 14, 1994. The thesis describes the formation and work of the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, a consortia of six school districts, five museums, two arts councils, two state agencies and the University of North Texas. The institute it committed to the improvement of visual arts education for elementary children and developing audiences for the rich museum resources.
