North Texas' School of Visual Arts was recognized as one of the top art education graduate programs in North America. The study was conduced by Stanford University and Florida State University, who studied the critiqued graduate level art education in the United States, out of 124 universities, NT was ranked at 13. Dr. Jack Davis, dean of the school of visual arts said that this exposes them nationally in the field of art.

A letter from Mary Buke, Sid Richardson Collection of Western Art, to R. William McCarter, Co-director for the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, about setting up a a tour for McCarter and his guest at the Collection of Western Art for June 21, 1997. Burke regrets to inform McCarter that she is unable to greet the group, but Debi Carl, the museum's administrative assistant, will guide the group along. Burke enclosed ten copies of the Downtown Fort Worth Walking Tour, the Sundance Square brochure, the Sid Richardson brochure, and one copy each of the Sid Richardson Gallery Guide, Ft. Worth Visitors Guide, and the Fort Worth Cultural District Visitors Guide.

A letter from R. William McCarter, Co-Director, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Elliot Eisner, Professor of Education and Art, Sandford University. McCarter talks about the success Texas schools had with implementing the eight concepts found in "Educating in a Multicultural World" in their art education. He list four of the most used concepts that have been used in curriculum throughout different disciplines. At the end of the document, he cc's Leilani Lattin Duke and Vicki Rosenberg.

A letter from Vicki Rosenberg, Program Officer for The Getty Center for Education in the Arts, to the members of the National Curriculum Working Group, including R. William McCarter, Co-director, North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Rosenberg offers the group an honoraria of $1,000 to pay for travels, lodging and food expenses for upcoming meetings between the different unit Groups. Rosenburg offers a list of the Group participants to better facilitate communications.

Duke includes in the letter that the Getty Education Institute has made special arrangements for the guests involvement, offering tours and complimentary meals. Attached to the letter are details of the conference's agenda for January 11th. A letter to Jack Davis is present, inviting him personally to be involved in the Getty Education conference as they wish to discuss implementing education reform policies as well as establishing the arts as a positive force in educational change.

Hurley attaches a copy of the full policy and request a written rationale for a standing variance. The second document is a policy excerpt for the use of long-held symbols or artwork specific to a department of UNT. The third document is the start of the policy manual of UNT in regards to University Communication, Marketing and Publication Policy.

Perkins writes how sad she feels leaving her many friends, colleagues and the members of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts and hopes she can get together with McCarter before her departure.

It gave NTIEVA them insight into the leadership Woolery is providing. McCarter also writes that they appreciate Dr. Skinner and Bill Cormack, who have proven themselves as able spokespersons for the distract during their recent meeting at the Dallas Museum between DMA Education Committee and members of the Board of the Marcus Foundation. McCarter ends the letter by stating that NTIEVA is in the early stages of planning for activities during the summer of 1995 and that the involvement of the Dallas teachers makes them look forward to another successful Institute.
