A letter from Harold M. Williams, President and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust, to Secretary Lamar Alexander, United States Department of Education. The letter is in regards to Williams participating in Alexander's meeting with Los Angeles arts and education leaders to discuss the actions which the Department can take to acknowledge the role of arts education in national education reform. Williams has attached an enclosed statement that identifies several of the Center's national projects.

Photocopy of a letter from Nancy Reynolds, Project Coordiantor of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, to Gail Davitt, Dallas Museum of Art. To discuss the teacher packet for the "Africa Explores" exhibit that Davitt has sent to Reynolds. As well as discuss the upcoming summer institute and other activities that Davitt will find informative. Enclosed in the letter is a schedule for the DMA summer institute that shows when the districts will be visiting the museum. The rest of the letter goes into details about how large the parties from each district will be and details about what the events should cover.

In discussion of an upcoming class trip from Plano students to the DMA for a video session. Reynolds writes that the expected trip will take place on March 31, at 10:00 am with a second grade class from Christie Elementary in Plano. The children will first view a video in the school taught by the classroom teacher and art specialist before the museum experience. The two video sessions will be part of a joint Texas/Nebraska teleworkshop that will be broadcast to 19 states on October 7 and 21.
