Copy of transcript for a letter from Henry Morse to James F. Perry, in which Morse apologizes to Perry for using his mule to plow without Perry's permission and injuring the animal unintentionally. Morse explains that he awoke and his horse had been maimed overnight leaving him with no work animal, so he hitched up Perry's mule. After half a day of plowing, Morse examined the mule and found that his shoulders had been severely chaffed.

Bartlet Sims, in which Perry offers to sell the land that Sims currently lives on to him for one dollar per acre - to be paid in part with negro slaves at cash price and in part in cash. Perry also informs Sims that the court case involving the land in question has not been decided upon.

Austin, in which Rivers informs Austin that he will not be able to visit at this time, but that he intends to relocate to the Austin colony and practice his profession there. Rivers appeals to Austin to put up an advertisement and offer his opinion as to the likelihood of Rivers success.

Copy of transcript for a letter from Alexander Thompson to Stephen F. Austin, in which Thompson reports on his journey from Galveston to Veracruz. Thompson also advises Austin to write to the Commodore, who has shown interest in obtaining a land grant in Texas and could, because of his position, be of service to the region.
