The note goes on to say that this "transfer and Bill of Sale is made on the following terms and conditions to secure the payment of a promissory note for $782.66" from Bonnell, payable on May 1, 1887. The check included in the record is worth $716.66 from John A. Bonnell to Edward A. Leigh.
