Harrelson discusses National Guard training and operations before the war, deployment to the Pacific and diversion to Java, the Japanese invasion, surrender and initial confinement, internment at Tanjong Priok and Bicycle Camp in Batavia, transfer to Changi Camp in Singapore, and the end of the war.

Interview with Navy veteran Wayne Martin. The interview includes Martin's personal experiences while aboard the battleship USS Maryland during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on December 4, 1941.

Interview with Jess Stanbrough, a Texas National Guard WWII veteran from Wichita Falls, Texas, who served and was captured with the 2nd Battalion, 131st Field Artillery (the "Lost Battalion.") Stanbrough discusses his time in the Guard before the war, deployment to the Pacific, the fall of Java and being captured, experiences in internment at Tanjong Priok and Bicycle Camp in Batavia, operating a clandestine radio, transfer to Japan, being an iron smelter at Kamaishi, Honshu, American air and naval bombardment, and liberation.

Interview with Arthur and Louise Caillet Dieterich, owners and operators of Hermosa Farms, Dallas, Texas. The interview includes the Dieterich's personal experiences about farming in Dallas, education, and establishing Hermosa Farms. The Dieterich's talk about their family backgrounds, Arthur's employment as operator of dairy cooperative with his brother in El Paso, Texas, the effect of the Great Depression on Dallas dairy businesses, milk processing and delivery operations, a typical day on a dairy farm, their change from retail to wholesale business, developing dairy herd, their cooperation with agricultural experiment stations, personnel practices, and civic and trade association activities. The interview includes an appendix with a family history written by Louise Caillet Dieterich.
