This interview contains his experiences with the 25th Medical Battalion at Schofield Barracks during the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Interview with Ray Robinson regarding his experiences in the military and as a prisoner of war of the Japanese during World War II. He was part of the Texas National Guard, 36th Division, 131st Field Artillery, 2nd Battalion, also known as the "Lost Battalion." He was captured on the island of Java in March of 1942 and spent the duration of the war thereafter as a prison of war in camps in South East Asia and in Japan.

Interview with Robert W. Hanna regarding his experiences while stationed at Kaneohe Naval Air Station during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other installations on the island on December 7th, 1941.

Summerlin discusses his experiences as a captured member of 2nd Battalion, 131st Field Artillery, or the "Lost Battalion" of the 36th Infantry Division, including: being drafted in 1940 and training; deployment to East Asia and diversion to Brisbane after December 7th; assignment to Sangosari Airfield, Malang, Java; the Japanese assault and American surrender; internment and labor at Tanjong Priok and Bicycle Camp in Batavia, Changi in Singapore, Thanbyuzayat and several camps on the Burma "Death" Railway, and Bangkok; liberation, and recovery in Calcutta.

In the first interview, Gossett discusses his childhood in Louisana and Texas, his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, his time as a lawyer and as district attorney for the 46th judicial district, and his election to Congress in 1938. Guiles discusses joining the service, training, being stationed at Nichols Field in the Philippines, the Japanese invasion and American retreat to Bataan, fighting as infantry, surrender at Marivales, the Bataan Death March, experiences in internment at Camp O'Donnell and Cabantuan, transit to Japan, internment at Hitachi mining camp, liberation, and reflections. In appendix is a notebook kept by Guiles, containing names of fellow prisoners, a self-made Japanese dictionary, a diary, and other recordings.
