John O. and Beulah Pollard Forrest are seen on the second row, center. John O. is behind the seated man with the hat between his feet and Beulah is to John O.'s left. A sign in the window of the store reads "All Leather Shoes, Friedman Shelby, Curbo Merc. Co."

Walker (fireman), 2. T. Tapp (fireman), 3. Unidentified patient, 4. Mr. McGennis (blacksmith), 5. Mr. Hopkins (chief engineer), 6. Asa Akins (patient), 7. Harrie Green (patient), 8. George Hellman (patient), and 9. Robert Long (assistant engineer).

Postcard of rows of wooden buildings and canvas tents. A printed note under the photo describes it: "Tents and rear of mess halls, Camp MacArthur, Waco, Texas." A handwritten note on the back of the postcard is addressed to Gertrude Odien in Detroit, Michigan and reads: "Dear Gertrude, Thank you so much for the cute [illegible]. I see you remembered my failing [illegible]. George came up to be married Xmas day. We all had a very nice time for 2 days. Nice and warm here now. Am very busy knitting yet."

Photograph of the Champe Carter McCulloch house in Waco, Texas, with Mrs. Emma B. McCulloch (1843-1929), wife of Champe Carter McCulloch, sitting on the front porch. The original one story structure on the right was built by Dr. Josiah Hatcher Caldwell (1822-1896). This original one story structure was later sold to C. C. McCulloch. The Caldwell-McCulloch house is located at 407 Columbus Avenue in Waco, Texas, and presently is owned by Historic Waco Foundation.
