A young man, abandoned by his elder brother at the behest of his wife, befriends a young woman. He gifts his prospective parents-in-law with precious items he took from the tiger he killed. The young woman proves herself fit to be his wife by being the only person not to slip on a mat spread out at harvest time.

Transcription of a blessing ritual called "Smul kpnaak" as performed by Sumshot Khular. This blessing is used by Lamkang elders to mark significant life events for younger couples. It can be performed for getting a blessing for good health, wealth, children, long life and any other blessings.
