Haley, Vice President, Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce; Steve Kaufman, Public Relations, President, Jacksonville Navy League; Gary Brose, SAIC (Business Development); Dan McCarthy, City of Jacksonville, Herschel Vinyard, Atlantic Marine; Joe 07Conor, Earl Industries; Kellie Vo Kilberg, Clay County Chamber; Jacquelyn Smith, District Director, Congressman Ander Crenshaw; Mary Alice Phelan, St Vincent's Health System; Gary Donoher, AD&D Inc.; and Leigh Bradley of Holland & Knight LLP on 11 February 2004, at 1445 in Suite 6600, NCl. Johnson, Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Installations and Environment (ASN (BE)), met with members of the Miami-Dade community delegation, including Katy Sorenson, Vice Chair, Board of County Commissioners, County Commissioner, District 8; Juan Carlos Bermudez, Mayor, City of Doral; Theodore H. Bornstein, and Jeffrey S. Newman, Foley & Lardner, LLP; and Captain James A. Noel, USMC, IAT Recorder at 0900 in Room 4B552 at the Pentagon on 16 June 2004.

During the Base Closure and Realignment Commission's Regional Hearing at New Orleans on 22 July, several members of the Florida delegation suggested relocating the Navy's east coast Master Jet Base, presently at Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia, to Cecil Field. You, however, did not mention the possibility of such a move in your remarks.

With the support of Governor Bush, I am writing to request an opportunity to present information to the BRAC Commission relative to the, possible return of military operation to Cecil Field.

Mayor John Peyton (Jacksonville, Florida) in a letter dated July 29, 2005, provides the Commission with details on improvements to the former Naval Air Station Cecil Field and the facility's readiness to house the Master Jet Base currently at NAS Oceana.
