Wet, dry, and playa sediment samples were collected throughout the 360 km 2 semi-arid, closed basin. Water samples were collected at the few available streams and springs. In addition to neutron activation analysis for uranium and 15 to 20 trace elements on all samples, field and laboratory measurements were made on water samples. Analytical data and field measurements are presented in tabular hardcopy and fiche format. Four full-size overlays for use with the Lund NTMS 1:250,000 quadrangle are included. Water site locations, water sample uranium concentration, sediment site locations, and sediment sample total uranium concentration are shown on the separate overlays. A general description of the area and the rock type distribution is presented. Some of the data in this report have been issued previously in "Preliminary Report on the Cave Valley Pilot Study," GJBX-43(76), August 1976.

We collected wet and dry sediment samples throughout the 18,770-km2 arid to semi-arid area and water samples at available streams, springs and wells. We present neutron activation analyses of uranium and trace elements and other measurements made in the field and laboratory in tabular hardcopy and microfiche format. The report includes 5 full-size overlays for use with the Winnemucca NTMS 1:250,000 quadrangle. Water sampling sites, water-sample uranium and thorium concentrations, sediment sampling sites, and sediment-sample total uranium and thorium concentrations are shown on the separate overlays. We present general geological and structural descriptions of the area, and describe the 12 known uranium occurrences.

From introduction: The objective of this survey is to develop a geochemical data base for use by the private sector to locate regions of anomalous uranium content. Prior to wide area coverage, several pilot studies are being undertaken to develop and evaluate sampling and analytical techniques. The first of these studies was conducted in the Walker River Basin.

Abstract: The results of analyses of the airborne gamma radiation and total magnetic field survey flown for the region identified as the Tonopah National Topographic Map NJll-5 is presented in Volume I and II of this report. The airborne data gathered is reduced by ground computer facilities to yield profile plots of the basic uranium, thorium and potassium equivalent gamma radiation intensities, ratios of these intensities, aircraft altitude above the earth's surface, total gamma ray and earth's magnetic field intensity, correlated as a function of geologic units. The distribution of data within each geologic unit, for all surveyed map lines and tie lines, has been calculated and is included. Two sets of profiled data for each line are included with one set displaying the above-cited data. The second set includes only flight line magnetic field, temperature, pressure, altitude data plus magnetic field data as measured at a base station. A general description of the area, including descriptions of the various geologic units and the corresponding airborne data, is included also.

Introduction: This report presents engineering details, statistics, individual borehole histories, and geophysical logs of the eleven holes drilled in the McDermitt caldera project during the 1981 drilling program. General information is presented regarding specific problems, including weather and logistics. A separate geologic report is being prepared and will be available through the Bendix Field Engineering Corporation Technical Library in the near future.

Introduction: The geologic map of the Mariposa quadrangle, which was used as a basis for the interpretation, was supplied by Bendix Field Engineering Corporation. The Formation descriptions in Appendix C are derived from this map supplemented with information from California Division of Mines and Geology (1967).
