The yellow building is four stories tall and has a domed-shaped tower. There are a couple of trees in front of the yellow building and there is a black, ink smudge across the photo. At the bottom of the picture, J. H. asked whether Junia was back in Belton yet.

Letter from Gertrude Osterhout to Junia Roberts Osterhout. She wrote to her mother to update her on events back home in Belton. Gertrude hoped her mother was feeling better and told her how Gertrude's sister, Ora, was doing in school as well as Gertrude's work at Baylor Female College. Among other small bits of news, she included how her father was doing and some information about the local church.

Letter from Walter C. Jones to John Patterson Osterhout thanking him for sending a shipment of clothes for victims of a flood. He told John that his request to have the sacks the clothing were delivered in to be returned was being taken care of. Included is an envelope addressed to "Mr. J. P. Osterhout."

On the back of the certificate it states that the debt was paid in full on March 15, 1855. Included is a business card for John Patterson Osterhout. The card states he is an attorney for Bellville, Texas and on the back of the card is an agreement for another collection to be done by John.

Certificate of the election to adjutant of the 23rd Battalion of the Texas State Troops for John Patterson Osterhout. It was part of a rally for troops for the Civil War and the certificate was signed by the governor, Francis Richard Lubbock, and the Secretary of State.

Letter from S. C. Page to friend discussing her travels to hospitals to tend to wounded soldiers from Louisiana. She took with her sacks of clothes and letters and gave money when she could. She was appalled at the injuries she saw and the lack of clothing some men received while they were hospitalized. Page went to multiple hospitals and introduced herself to the Louisianan soldiers to give them company. She earned the nickname "Lady Bountiful" during her travels.
