Pamela Geieger Stephens is a teaching fellow and graduate research assistant at the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, University of North Texas, and Michelle Mattoon is a pre-service art specialist at the University of North Texas. Their article, "Thinking like an Artist," is about a puzzle activity for school children to help develop their own original ideas and encourages careful observation of a work of art. Stephens and Mattoon have developed this puzzle activity to allow students to act like an art critic and aesthetician as they describe an image.
