The Effect of Ashing Temperatures on the Volatility of Germanium in Lignite Samples
Abstract: A study has been conducted to provide data on the loss of germanium from ashed lignite samples. The lignite samples, of known germanium content, were ashed at various temperatures as high as 1000 °C with varying rates of heating and varying amounts of surface area of the lignites. The results indicate that no germanium was volatilized during the various ignitions.

Uranium-Bearing Nickel-Cobalt-Native Silver Deposits, Black Hawk District, Grant County, New Mexico
From introduction: Mining began in the Black Hawk (Bullard Peak) district in 1881 when high-grade silver ore was found at the Alhambra mine. Most of the silver produced was native silver, associated with nickel and cobalt arsenides and sulfides. In 1920 pitchblende was recognized on the dumps of some of the old mines, and since 1949 the district has been of interest as a possible source of ores that contain uranium, nickel, and cobalt.

Chattanooga Shale Investigations Along the Sequatchie Anticline of Tennessee and Alabama
From abstract: "In 1953 the Chattanooga shale in the Sequatchie anticline was tested for its uranium content by seven diamond drill cores. Concurrent with the drilling, geologic field work was done to determine the distribution, thickness, and structural setting of the shale."
