[Postcard: Mascaras Mexicanas [Mexican Masks] Exhibition]

Postcard inviting the recipient to visit the Mascaranas Mexicanas exhibit at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, Texas. The exhibit ran from May 3rd, 1996 to June 15th, 1996 and a reception was held on May 3rd, 1996. The front of the postcard features a photograph of an ornate mask. An almost human face with a mustache, two sets of horns, and an open mouth is surrounded be creatures. A bird sits atop the head as a snake wraps around it and three lizards crawl up the neck. The mask is painted in dark green, gold, and red colors.

Letter from Manuel G. Vela to John J. Herrera requesting Herrera's support for the nomination of his friend Oscar Laurel from Council Number 12 of Laredo, Texas for the office of President General of the League. Vela writes, "may I be permitted to respectfully request your aid and influence in behalf of my personal friend Oscar Laurel." Towards the bottom of the letter, there is a portion in Spanish that reads: "...please command me. As they say at the border, I request this of you as a man and as a good friend, and remember that one favor with another favor is repaid."

Letter from Gustavo dated June 13, 1964. On one side of the paper is a hand colored border with "The Wolf and the Seven Kids" written in pencil. The reverse of the paper has a handwritten note that translate to, "Lady I am in search of a home and you along with my kids are going to come with me, whether you want to or not and I could care less who opposes. Gustavo."
