[Letter from J. A. Murphy to Bill Dickerson, June 15, 1939]

Letter from Murphy to Bill Dickerson stating Sayles should prepare a form to be used on all leases to help secure affidavits among other documents. While there is an affidavit from other parties in Illinois enclosed, Murphy states it would likely not be signed and therefore should not be used. He suggests because of the length of time it would take to acquire information about these lands, the requirement for affidavits should be waved for the purpose of payment. He remits a copy he believes will serve their purposes in this matter.

[Letter from Jack Sayles to Darall G. Hawk, June 28, 1939]

Letter from Jack Sayles to Darall G. Hawk discussing the interest of Earl Willard Meyer. Sayles discusses the law regarding the procurement of oil and gas leases from minors. The law outlines the steps to take to procure the lease from Earl. The lease terminates when the minor reaches twenty-one years of age unless there is production on the property. The real estate law relies on the guardian to determine if the land is to be partitioned. Sayles does not believe it wise to sell Earl's interest unless an actual cash or credit payment was made.
