The co-directors of the institute, Jack Davis and Bill McCarter approach art education from traditional art classes, they want to encourage discipline art education by having educators teach four basic principles, art history, art production, art knowledge and aesthetics. The second featured article about Warren Carver, a elementary school principal who attended a three-week seminar to be taught the art subject and returning to his school to put their knowledge into use. Carver states that he believes in the program, seeing how it had improved the children's vocabulary and interest in understanding art.
