Return of Capt. Hamilton K. Redway which details the present and absent men of Company "F" First Veteran regiment of the New York Cavalry for the month of May in the year of 1865. The return notes enlisted men on "extra or daily duty," commissioned officers present or absent, and any alterations made to the company for this particular month. This document was created while Redway was stationed at Kelly's Creek in West Virginia.

[Postcard of Hawk's Nest Rock Overlooking River Canyon]

Postcard of a cobblestone walkway overlooking a winding river that splits two hills. The message on the border reads, "He and Irene in Houston for funeral." The back of the postcard adds, "Hawk's Nest is located on U. S. Route 60 overlooking the New River Canyon. It was once called Marshall's Pillar for Chief Justice John Marshall. The New River Canyon is declared by engineers to be 585 feet deep." The message on the back is illegible. The postcard is addressed to "Mrs. Carroll E. Ward 1906 McFaddin Ave. Beaumont, Texas."
