Davis complains about the lack of communication from Pastors after services are held in their churches, advises that their Executive Committee approved the plan that they had discussed with Dr. Jenkens when in Abilene and notes an enclosed check to Carswell for reimbursement for his Belton trip. In postscript, Davis requests Carswell's opinion regarding asking Merkel, Tuscola and Caps to join their field day at Abilene.

A letter written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Dallas, Texas from T. N. Carswell dated February 23, 1942. Carswell confirms commitments from fourteen churches for participation in the Field Day scheduled for March 8, advising Davis that the people are expecting to sign a petition to the President to ban manufacture and sale of alcoholic liquor and beer during war as a national defense measure.

Davis suggests using a pledge card such as the enclosed one when presenting the matter to pastors and advises of more churches participating than there are special speakers available for every church noting that in Houston, the past year, the pastor of the church usually spoke and took an offering at the close of the service.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated March 17, 1942. Davis inquires of Carswell, "how goes the battle," and advises that he has plans, but he wants to hear from Carswell before doing anything and describes the program plans for Dallas. He advises Carswell, confidentially, that they have a plan to try to get on the July Primary ballot on a "war time proposition" noting if they can do that they "will be ready for big things".

A letter written to Reverend Jeff Davis, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated May 25, 1942. Carswell confirms that Davis should be at the Abilene Field Day on June 14. He lists the names of pastors and their congregations that have signed up and suggests that Davis send to them copies of the Crusader with a preparatory message. Denominations represented include Baptist, First Christian, Methodist, and Presbyterian.

A letter written to Dr. Frank L. Turner, President, McMurry College, Abilene, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, Chairman 24th Senatorial District Drys. Letter reused with address revision to Dr. Humphrey Lee, President, SMU, Dallas, Texas, dated May 29, 1942. Carswell advises of a letter that was sent on March 4 and that a reply would be genuinely appreciated stressing that the Drys are anxious to know what Christian schools and colleges are doing about the use of beverage alcohol.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated May 28, 1942. Davis confirms that he is sending a Scrap Book and sermon to the twelve pastors who were on the list he received from Carswell and will be bringing Bishop Boaz on the 14th.

Davis advises Carswell that they are making a move on June 8 to get war time prohibition on the July Primary ballot and warns to keep mum until it is presented to the Democratic Committee. The reverse side includes a list of names handwritten by Carswell: Col. Finch, Maj. Bolling, W. Skinner.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys, dated June 3, 1942. Davis confirms that Bishop Boaz will be with Brother Douglas Carver on June 14, glad Carswell is "getting" a group to go to Austin and enthusiatically advises, in a postscript, that Marion County voted dry on Saturday giving them 129 totally dry counties to date. The reverse side includes a handwritten note, "Cash 28.00" and dated June 7, 1942.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Raymond W. Foy, The Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas, dated September 12, 1942. Foy advises Carswell that he found no authentic information as to the circulation of leading magazines by states or on the amount of money expended on the advertising of liquor.

A letter addressed to the Texas Press Clipping Bureau, Dallas, Texas, from T. N. Carswell ,dated September 29, 1942. Carswell requests clippings of the October advertisements in Texas of beers or whiskies.

A letter addressed to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Texas Press Clipping Bureau, by J. H. Simpson, Dallas, Texas, dated October 2, 1942. In reply to the request by Carswell for clippings Simpson advises that there are no past clippings on any of the subjects requested but that they would be glad to clip from future papers for as long as desired.

Carswell recounts events of a meeting in Lubbock, advises of pledge cards received for a Field Day to be held in Lubbock and emphasizes that the churches are anxious to have Davis and Bishop Boaz attend their Field Day. Typewritten at the top of the letter is a list of Lubbock area churches and organizations.

Davis expresses that Carswell was missed at the Field Day, inquires on the status of a San Angelo Field Day, and advises of an increase to 133 dry counties with more elections to be held, soon.
