He advises of an enclosure listing the names of ministers who were included in the meeting.

Miller advises Carswell that he is enclosing a copy of the letter which he is writing to Dr. Jeff Davis. He advises that the letter might be of interest since Carswell phoned yesterday afternoon. The attached letter is written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Executive Secretary, United Texas Drys from E. J. Miller, Judge, 35th Judicial District, Brownwood, Texas dated July 16, 1941. Miller reports on the proceedings regarding Ellison vs. Texas Liquor Board, advises to await the action of the Court of Civil Appeals and gives a brief itinerary of his travel and work to date and for the next two weeks requesting further remittance as soon as it may be convenient.

Davis acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Carswell and expresses his appreciation for the check for the Judge Miller fee. He advises Carswell that the petitions will be "in the hands of our Friends" by February 1, will be subject to the poll tax list of 1942 and that they will not know who are qualified voters until after February 1. He advises of their need to meet before February.

Davis outlines a plan to organize counties into districts then to "reach" counties by using rallys, Field Days, personal contact by Davis and by pastors presenting "matters" to their congregations.

Davis complains about the lack of communication from Pastors after services are held in their churches, advises that their Executive Committee approved the plan that they had discussed with Dr. Jenkens when in Abilene and notes an enclosed check to Carswell for reimbursement for his Belton trip. In postscript, Davis requests Carswell's opinion regarding asking Merkel, Tuscola and Caps to join their field day at Abilene.

A letter written to Dr. Jeff Davis, Dallas, Texas from T. N. Carswell dated February 23, 1942. Carswell confirms commitments from fourteen churches for participation in the Field Day scheduled for March 8, advising Davis that the people are expecting to sign a petition to the President to ban manufacture and sale of alcoholic liquor and beer during war as a national defense measure.
