Otis Brown's First House in Irving

Otis Brown built the first house in Irving in 1903. He and his wife Netta lived there until they built a larger home in 1905. Brown sold this home to Chaney Miller. Miller had it enlarged, and he or a member of his family lived in the house until it was torn down in the 1970s.

Southern Pacific Railroad's "The Sunbeam" engine No. 650, a type 4-6-2 locomotive, at Dallas Union Terminal in 1950. Streamlined steam locomotive No.650 has been serviced and coupled to its train. When the number 13 is placed into its train indicator atop the boiler it will be ready to depart "On the Advertised" at 5:00PM as The Sunbeam.

["The Sunbeam" at Dallas]

Southern Pacific's morning passenger train from Houston to Dallas is Train No. 15 The Hustler which uses the same cars as the afternoon Sunbeam. After its arrival in Dallas the entire train will be turned on "the wye" serviced, have a parlor car added to the consist and leave for Houston as Train No. 14 at five pm.

Photograph of a bust-length portrait of Cecil Clyde Huffhines (September 10, 1885 to June 21, 1970). She is wearing glasses, earrings, three necklaces, and a pin on her right lapel. She was married to Elmo Huffhines Sr. (October 31, 1879 to January 8, 1975) on February 16, 1904. Clyde Huffhines is the daughter of C. C. (Mayor) Huffhines and Sarah (Sally) Chick Huffhines.
