The purpose of this study is to give the results of a testing program in the low seventh grade of an urban school wherein intelligence, personality, achievement, and socioeconomic tests were given. The primary purpose of the tests was to determine what influence, if any, the environmental factors played in the individual learning process, but attention was given to other phases of the learning process as well.

"It has been the purpose of this study to make an analysis of the recreational program at the Dallas County Juvenile Home...certain conclusions concerning the recreational program have been reached. 1. The principles upon which the recreational program is based are in line with the recommendations of the National Recreation Association. 2. In practice, recreation in the Dallas County Juvenile Home has not reached maximum efficiency. 3. The program is built largely to fill the needs of the majority of the boys who are detained at the home. 4. The program has been modified in some cases to meet the needs of the individual groups. 5. The recreation program serves as a means for the boys to express themselves; therefore, the supervisors and the case workers are able to establish better rapport with each boy. 5. The general purpose of this study is to make a survey of children's library work in the United States with special attention to recent trends and developments in this field as revealed in current practice. The specific purpose is to make an evaluation of the services rendered by the children's division of the Dallas Public Library and to determine how this department measures up to the standards set up by the American Library Association and by individual authorities.

The purpose of this study is to provide a sound curriculum for the junior high school based on the psychological, sociological, and democratic needs of youth. One of several reason given for the establishment of the junior high school was to adjust the curriculum to the needs of youth.

The problem is limited to an analysis of the first one hundred divorce suits involving children filed in Dallas County, Texas, during the months of May and June, 1948. The general factors considered are: (a) family background; (b) age; (c) educational background; (d) economic status; (e) previous marital relations; and (f) the number of children.

The problem in this study has a three-fold purpose: to evaluate the work performance, as ranked by employers and teachers, of a group of employed graduates of business education of the sunset high School of Dallas, Texas; to evaluate the personality traits demonstrated by the employees on the job in relation to the personality traits demonstrated in school; and to analyze these evaluations to secure suggestions for improving the course of study, including the amount of emphasis which should be placed on the various phases of the instructional program.

The purpose of the study was to determine if Juvenile delinquents whose first offenses were runaway or auto theft differ significantly from non-delinquents of a church group. The purpose of this study was to measure perseverance time as related to the individual's need for achievement, past success or failure, the difficulty of a task, and the experimenter's instructions regarding its difficulty. The subjects used in this study were twenty-eight children, fifteen males and thirteen females, who ranged in age from eight years, six months to nineteen years and nine months, with the mean chronological age being twelve years and ten months.

The problem of this study was to determine if juvenile delinquents who commit auto theft without an accomplice differ significantly in certain characteristics from those who commit such thefts with one of more confederates. The characteristics investigated were: (1) scores made on individual scales of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory and (2) intellectual ability as measured by the California Short-Form Test of Mental Maturity. Furthermore, the same characteristics were examined to determine if a significant difference existed between each of the groups of juvenile delinquents and a group of juveniles who did not have a record of delinquency and attended Sunday School classes regularly.

This research problem concerns a follow-up study of seventy-nine boys who have undergone extensive therapy and supervised training in group-living over an extended period of time at Camp Woodland Springs, Dallas, Texas. The problem under consideration is one of determining the operating efficiency of this institution in its main purpose of rehabilitating boys who have generally lacked the social and personal skills necessary to satisfactory adjustment in their respective environments.
