Article describes how in digital image processing and steganography, images are often described using edges and local binary pattern (LBP) codes. The authors state that by combining these two properties, a novel hybrid image steganography method of secret embedding is proposed in this paper.

Poster focuses on developing a conceptual framework to understand data literacy needs in community colleges. The authors propose a framework for studying data literacy by conceptualizing data literacy and explicating the core content and competencies associated with it. It was presented at the 2023 Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This work is part of an Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant.

Data management plan for the grant "REU Site: Beyond Language: Training to Create and Share Vector Embeddings across Applications." This three-year Research Experiences for Undergraduate (REU) site project at University of North Texas will support 10 students for 10 weeks each summer and teach them how to build modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems capable of communicating their acquired knowledge across domains. Knowledge is about much more than what can be described in language, and we aim to train students to handle this new way of communication.

This is an appendix to “What We Can Learn From Each Other: International Archival Pedagogy Conversations and Collaborations,” a manuscript that was inspired by a collaborative workshop at the 2023 institute of the Archival Education and Research Initiative (AERI). The lively workshop discussion revealed both how much the participants all had in common, and how much they had to learn from each other. Their discussion highlighted how disconnected and geographically siloed archival education programs still continue to be, despite opportunities for international collaboration between archival educators. With this issue in mind, workshop participants decided to continue their conversations past the AERI 2023 meeting as part of an investigation of current pedagogical practices, teaching needs, and future goals of archival educators in a variety of settings. They met on Zoom and then corresponded asynchronously for a discussion of the structures of their archival education programs, their students’ needs, their teaching goals, how they respond to challenges in their virtual and physical classrooms, and how they can leverage this and future collaborations to benefit both their students and the archival education field as a whole. Data management plan for the grant, "Developing a High-Quality Academic Environment for Broadening Participation of Hispanic Students in Computing." The objectives of the grant are to Enhance the education quality and broadening the participation of Hispanic undergraduate students in Computing through new pedagogy adoption, cultural transformation, and offering guided research opportunity for students. The project is also going to study the cultural asset-based education for Hispanic students and to understand which cultural asset would be the most important impact factors for Hispanic education in computing.

The project team will convene librarians, archivists, oral history practitioners, public historians, community-based memory workers, and others working in oral history to identify good practices, share challenges and lessons learned, and prepare an actionable roadmap for building, implementing, preserving, and sustaining community oral history projects.

The University of North Texas will conduct an 18-month planning project to examine the current perspectives of community college librarians, faculty, and students regarding data literacy; identify the data literacy competencies needed for community college students; and develop data literacy action plans for community college libraries to assist community college librarians in assessing their capability and creating a road map to incorporate data literacy into their existing literacy programs. The findings of this project will identify the role and position of community college libraries in facilitating and enhancing the development of the data literacy competencies of students.
