Letter from Truett Latimer to Bill discussing House Bill 54, which Latimer writes needs to be amended before he can support it. He writes that the $500 licensing fee is too high, that the bill does not specify how this money would be spent, and that the limitation of one license per 10,000 people is monopolistic. Latimer also writes that he has not yet had time to consider House Bills 22 and 13 but that he will respond soon and includes copies of House Bills 54 and 13 with his letter.

Letter from Truett Latimer to A. E. Wells discussing concerning an unnamed bill related to teachers' salaries during the 53rd Legislature. Latimer asks Wells to let him know of any rumors he hears so Latimer can address them and explains that he previously asked Wells for a list of teachers in the Abilene Public Schools because he plans to send them a letter about the situation so they are aware they are not the only in Texas needing more money. He also says he is hopeful they can find a solution and suggests Wells contact Mr. Sturgeon at the Texas State Teachers Association to draft a proposed bill exempting teachers from jury duty.
