A letter written to Dad [T. N. Carswell] from "Baby Doll" [Peggy Carswell], dated July 23, 1943. Peggy expresses her appreciation for the telegram he sent for her twentieth birthday. She explains her non-involvement before in campus activities but that she is now "dreadfully" busy describing her school activities, roommate, friends and jobs. She confirms that she is meeting Mother at the train, tonight.

A letter written to Bill and Jack and George from T. N. Carswell, dated December 23, 1957. Carswell advises that Christmas time made him reminisce then advises of the number of acts of friendship and helpfulness of their Dads in the tasks he was privileged to carry on. He pays a tribute to Bill, Jack and George for the really fine and outstanding way that they have carried on the business operations left in their care.

A letter written to Bill Fulwiler from T. N. Carswell, dated December 23, 1957. Carswell advises Bill due to Christmas making him reminisce that he wrote to expresses his appreciation for W. J. Fulwiler, Bill's father, for his friendship and leadership in the building of Abilene during the years Carswell served [at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce]. He commends Bill on the exemplary way that he and Harry have carried on the multiple interests of W. J.

Carswell explains the situation which has made Subject No. 113,814 unable to barber as a parolee and advises regarding an application for full pardon in order for him to requalify under the Barber Law.

Carswell explains his interest in Subject 60841-2, a prospective parolee, as resulting from a conversation with Subject's mother and information from other sources regarding the family. Carswell identifies himself as a Delegate to the convention and requests a room at the Herring, Amarillo or Capitol adding in a postscript that Jess Rogers could vouch for him.

He advises that the hope and prayer of many is that White's next Christmas season will be in Abilene as Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Abilene.

A letter written to Governor Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated April 23, 1953. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the steadfast stand by Shivers against Treasury Raids. He describes some "teacher friends" having exhibited little or no concern for the welfare of the whole just so their demands are met and advises that it is contrary to good government for the legislature to set the salary for local employees. Carswell conveys his "trust" that Senator Sadler and Representative Latimer are supporting the program advising copy of this letter is being sent to both men.

A letter written to Governor Governor Allan Shivers, Austin, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated February 23, 1953. Carswell advises that now is the right time for an overall and comprehensive study of the costs, organization and operation of the governments in the state of Texas.

Carswell confirms commitments from fourteen churches for participation in the Field Day scheduled for March 8, advising Davis that the people are expecting to sign a petition to the President to ban manufacture and sale of alcoholic liquor and beer during war as a national defense measure.

Carswell expresses his appreciation for the example and inspiration Pope has been to his life and applies the term "uncomman man" describing the significance of the term as being historically applied to a very few men by Dr. Hamilton C. Mabie, "a Christian statesman, philosoper and scholar of world stature in the early part of this century". Carswell offers the season's greetings.
