Patent for a new and improved boring machine. This design "consists in the construction and novel arrangement of a circularly-adjustable rod carrying a pressure screw, an adjustable arm arranged on said rod and having its end or head concave on its underside and provided with bearing indentations or punctures, and a brace having a bearing end corresponding in form to said bearing indentations or punctures" (lines 16-24).

Patent for "a new and improved cough-medicine" (lines 7-8).

Patent for a device related to "velocipedes or wagons propelled by hand-power" (lines 20-21), including instructions and illustrations.

Patent for a new and improved sulky-plow. This design represents an improvement in sulky plows due to its novel combination and arrangement of crank-axle, tongue, angular guide-braces, diagonal brace, and adjustable collars (lines 85-87). This novel arrangement results in a plow that is simple, durable, and inexpensive.

This design "consists of a screw-head having on the underside . . . cutting-edges alternating with flat and deep interspaces or notches, said notches completely filling the circuit of the screw-head and the notches gradually increasing in width and depth from the screw-shank to the crown of the head, thus enabling the cutters to clear themselves" (lines 12-20).

This is a letter from the Charles B. Moore Collection. It is written by Matilda and William Dodd, Mary Ann Moore's parents. Matilda begins the letter and writes for three pages. William writes a short letter on the fourth and final page of the document. Matilda begins her letter by informing Mary Ann "Sis" and Charles that she has received their letter and was pleased to read that they were all well. She details that the family is all well,that Charlie, Alice and the baby visited them on Saturday and Sunday, and that Birdie is beginning to walk. Alice plans on taking her to get he picture taken. Matilda mentions that the weather has been very cold and the ground has frozen, making it hard for those who have not finished sowing wheat. The discussion then moves to a new neighbor who has purchased Mrs. Ireland's place and is planning to ask family friends to live with him. Dodd details to "Sis" that they went to see "the old place" and notes that there are three families living there. She furthers the discussion by writing about Jim's plans to build a "fine" home in the coming year and then notes …
