A letter written to Senator Tom Connally, U. S. Senate, from T. N. Carswell, dated February 18, 1946. Carswell states his opinion of Mr. Pauley advising that he does not believe Pauley possesses the moral integrity required to qualify for responsible governmental service requesting, therefore, that Connally oppose his confirmation as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. Carswell also offers insight regarding world peace; "In the matter of dealing with Russia it appears to me we are pursuing a course of appeasement and compromise that will as surely end in disaster as did a comparable policy in dealing with our recent enemies―will result in our subservience―Civil War came in spit of all Clay's compromises."

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from D. C. Starr, Executive Service Sales, Prentice-Hall, Inc., Englewood Cliffs, N. J. 07632, dated January 18, 1965. Starr expresses his appreciation for the telephone call from Carswell regarding the Tax Guide subscription and the 1965 Federal Handbook. He advises Carswell that the volumes had shipped and apologizes for the manner in which his account had been handled.

Daniel expresses his appreciation for the telegram sent by Carswell in support of Senate Joint Resolution 1 and advises that as a co-sponsor of the original Bricker Amendment he has been "working constantly in an attempt to secure its prompt passage" and will continue in hopes of being "successful in securing favorable Congressional action".

Johnson advises of a correction to a statement in a previous letter, "If the OPA is thrown overboard except for rents it will have a very fine effect". Handwritten note by T. N. Carswell advises Johnson to use his judgement as to sales and purchases as always.

Skaggs expresses his appreciation for Carswell's effort as Presiding Judge of his Precinct noting that the election proved to be a very difficult election to hold and that they will correct as many of the difficulties as possible before another election.

A letter written to Dr. James, from T. N. Carswell, dated December 18, 1959. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the position James took on the Texarkana Hospital proposition otherwise Texas Baptist would have joined others asking for government financing for operations of their denomination. He notes the appointment of a special committee to define the Baptist position with reference to the separation of church and state and of his disappointment should there be any relaxation in the "age old Baptist position of complete separation of church and state", that it may be hard to adhere to the principle "in this day when there is such a widely held idea that it is the business of the government so to do".

Mahon expresses his appreciation to Carswell for sending a copy of the Dallas Morning News editorial on the Soviet armament buildup and for Carswell's comments stating his support of a strong military posture for the country. Mahon advises of the enclosure of a reprint which may be of interest to Carswell. Typewritten on U.S. House letterhead bearing U S Eagle watermark. Harris advises Maisel of his agreement to serve on the Legion Memorial Highway Committee for which he was recommended by Tommy N. Carswell.

A letter written to Dean R. P. Sibley, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York from T. N. Carswell, dated July 18, 1944. Carswell acknowledges his receipt of Sibley's letter addressed to Peggy A. Carswell having placed her on probation. He advises of the fact that Peggy, having entered Cornell as a Junior, could not therefore have fulfilled any requirements by the end of the sophomore year and because she is now a senior applying probation, literally, is impossible. He requests that his daughter's probation status be reconsidered advising of the timing of this action as unnecessarily disturbing and that he must depend on Sibley to explore the matter thoroughly and to reply.

Postal Telegraph sent to Thomas N. Carswell, Sweetwater, Texas, from Eula Clark, Denver, Colorado, dated January 18. Eula acknowledges her receipt of the money expressing her appreciation with a promise of a letter to follow.

A Western Union telegram sent to Mrs. Worth H. Clark, Ocala, Florida, from Norwood & Virginia, dated December 18, 1940. Carswell expresses their grief regarding the death of Worth hoping that his brother Allen was already there. They would not be able to go but to phone or wire anything she needed and was praying that God bless, comfort and keep close to her.
