Handwritten letter from Chester Nimitz to his father in Kerrville. Nimitz, aboard the USS Indiana (BB-1), describes sleeping in a hammock and the crowded conditions aboard ship. He mentions there is a band aboard ship that plays concerts every morning and evening. Nimitz expresses relief to have his plebe year completed. This letter is on US Naval Academy stationery.
