The objective of the invention is to improve to catching and destroying boll weevils with a device that is easily attached to a cultivator. This device includes "receptacles filled with an insect destroying liquid." (lines 23-24).

Patent for a display apparatus to be implemented as animated advertising signs which successively display different images by controlling the timing of changes in the colors of light used to flood the front and to backlight the display surfaces. The images are created in such a way that certain elements created in certain colors become absorbed or are made invisible when illuminated by certain colors of light. An apparatus controls the cyclical changes of the colored lights used by the sign.

Patent for Improvements to aircraft steering. The invention allows the pilot to adjust the center of mass.

Patent for an improved version of the priming cup "shown in Patent No. 1,329,464, granted February 3, 1920" (lines13-14). Includes illustrations.

Patent for protecting bank vaults by using metal shells (that are adapted to receive frangible gas containers containing asphyxiating or other disabling gas) as inner linings inside and next to the brick wall of the vault. The metal shells containing the gas containers will break upon contact when a person or persons are trying to breach the outer (brick wall) to gain access to the bank vault.

A report on the necessity of improved motor-vehicle lighting.

Scientific paper issued by the Bureau of Standards over the mutual inductance of two coaxial circles. As stated in the abstract, "a number of examples are given to show the methods of computation by the different formulas, tables, and charts" (p. 541). This paper includes tables, and illustrations.

"This report presents the results of an investigation undertaken in the 20-foot Propeller Research Tunnel at Langley Field on the cowling of radial air-cooled engines. A portion of the investigation has been completed, in which several forms and degrees of cowling were tested on Wright "Whirlwind" J-5 engine mounted in the nose of a cabin fuselage. The cowlings varied from the one extreme of an entirely exposed engine to the other in which the engine was entirely inclosed. Cooling tests were made and each cowling modified, if necessary, until the engine cooled approximately as satisfactorily as when it was entirely exposed" (p. 165).

"This report contains the results of tests made in the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics variable density wind tunnel on three airplane models supplied by the British Aeronautical Research Committee. These models, the BE-2E with R.A.F. 19 wings, the British Fighter with R.A.F. 15 wings, and the Bristol Fighter with R.A.F. 30 wings, were tested over a wide range in Reynolds numbers in order to supply data desired by the Aeronautical Research Committee for scale effect studies. The maximum lifts obtained in these tests are in excellent agreement with the published results of British tests, both model and full scale" (p. 451).
