Carswell, For the Committee, Committee on Americanism, American Legion, dated December 5, 1941. The letter discusses the promotion of a "What is Americanism?" campaign. The campaign is defined as "seeking more light in the form of a contribution", the contribution being the answer to the question, "What is Americanism?". The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an American Revival comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Omar Burleson, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated July 5, 1972. Burleson expresses his appreciation for Carswell's letter and kind comments noting their agreement on the need to maintain the Nation's security. He advises of the so-called Revenue Sharing proposal passing the House, of his vote against it and of the enclosed copy of dissenting views he filed with the Committee. An enclosure includesd a document titled "Additional Dissenting Views of Honorable Omar Burleson," a discussion by Burleson of a bill that he introduced in 1969 and again in 1971 to decentralize two programs bogged down with red tape. The Committee's bill does the opposite by compounding the existing over-centralization and costing the taxpayer. Good government is economical and efficient and provides services desired by the people.

Carswell addresses Richardson as "Governor" and advises of the attached suggested organization/committee plan for the Million Dollar Campaign for Hardin-Simmons University then congratulates Richardson on his election as the university's president. The attachment includes a suggested organization plan, titled "A Million Dollar Enlargement and Improvement Campaign for Hardin-Simmons University; one of several proposed additions to the campus is a Museum and Archives Building."

Stell, Commander, 17th District, The American Legion, Anson, Texas, dated February 5, 1945. Stell requests a full representation of his Committee at the Mid-Winter War Conference in Abilene, Texas on February 18, 1945 in the Ball Room of the Wooten Hotel. Handwritten note at bottom of page by T. N. Carswell suggests a study of Foreign Relations during next several months.

A second correspondence typewritten at the bottom of the page to Mr. Carswell from B C [Betty Christian] is an expression of appreciation by Christian for the supervision of Subject by Carswell.

A letter written to "Norwood" [Mr. T. N. Carswell], Abilene, Texas from Clarence O. Little, Vice President, The Atlantic National Bank of Jacksonville, Jacksonville 1, Florida, dated September 5, 1950. Little expresses his disappointment that he missed him when Carswell was in Jacksonville.

Adamson, Colonel, U.S.A., Ret'd, Military Secretary, Washington, dated December 5, 1941. Adamson explains that General Pershing directed him to acknowledge the letter from Carswell requesting his opinion of Americanism and that he commends the campaign but declines to respond to any requests citing that too many were received to be able answer them all.

A letter written to Major T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from D. F. Morris, Guy Taylor Post No. 61, American Legion, Albany, Texas, dated April 5, 1941. Morris acknowledges the receipt of the letter from Carswell regarding House Bill 373 and informs Carswell that he passed his letter on to Mr. V. H. Moore, Chairman of the local committee, advising Carswell that he had to resign from the committee but pledges his support un-officially.
