The answer will then be used "to help stimulate an American Revival comparable in results to the periods of the Revolution, the Making of the Constitution, and the Civil War" stressing that the country's destiny depends on these answers.

[Letter and Additional Dissenting Views: From Representative Omar Burleson to T. N. Carswell - July 5, 1972]

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from Omar Burleson, House of Representatives, Washington, D. C., dated July 5, 1972. Burleson expresses his appreciation for Carswell's letter and kind comments noting their agreement on the need to maintain the Nation's security. He advises of the so-called Revenue Sharing proposal passing the House, of his vote against it and of the enclosed copy of dissenting views he filed with the Committee. An enclosure includesd a document titled "Additional Dissenting Views of Honorable Omar Burleson," a discussion by Burleson of a bill that he introduced in 1969 and again in 1971 to decentralize two programs bogged down with red tape. The Committee's bill does the opposite by compounding the existing over-centralization and costing the taxpayer. Good government is economical and efficient and provides services desired by the people.
