Photograph of the interior of the State Hospital Board barrack-type building. The kitchen here is supplied with pots, pans, mixing bowls, measuring cups, and various other kitchen ware. The ovens and stoves are in the center of the room and are flanked by two food preparation tables (one in front and one in back). On the right side of the room is a large sink. At the back of the room, the door to the food storage area is open.

A letter written to a parolee in Abilene, Texas from John Ben Shepperd (signed by Pauline Kirk, Chief, Parole Division), Department of State, Austin, Texas dated January 5, 1950. Kirk orders the parolee to report to Mr. T. N. Carswell and advises Subject regarding the parole violation that was committed, of the transfer of the case to Taylor County and of the importance to abide by the parole requirements.
