Jar Fastener.

Patent for a new and improved jar fastener. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a fruit can or jar, having a continuous groove across its bottom and up its sides, of a U-shaped bolt resting in said groove, a cap-plate resting on the top of the jar and through which the legs of the bolt extend, and securing nuts turning on the ends of the bolt above the cap-plate" (lines 78-84).

Patent for a simple, strong, and economic lattice that is meant for use in jail cells. It allows air and light into the cell, and they are formed with "alternately opposite depressions and elevations for the reception of the bars running at right angles thereto" (lines 12-24). It should have alternating bars of steel and iron.

This design consists in "a partition at its lower end slightly above the bottom formed with a screw-threaded neck at its center, a perforated tube fitting with its lower end upon the neck and having its upper end closed, and a number of perforated triangular tubes upon the side of the boiler provided with stoppers at their upper ends and extending from the partition in the lower end of the boiler, and a rack consisting of rings connected at their upper edges by cross-pieces" (lines 76-86).

Patent for a new and improved velocipede. This design "has relation to that class of velocipedes in which the rider is suspended within a large wheel impelled by a frictional contact between the inner periphery of the same and the driving wheel" (lines 8-12). With this design, "by the increased size of wheel, not only is speed gained, but the same may be propelled with greater ease over rough or smooth roads and with greater comfort to the rider, in that the jolt is less, and yet at the same time all the benefits arising from this class of exercise are obtained" (lines 27-34).
