Photocopy of a letter from Alfred F. Hurley, Chancellor of North Texas State University, to Linus Wright, Superintendent of Dallas ISD. North Texas State University has recently received a planning grant from the Getty Center for Education in the Arts, an operating program of the J. Paul Getty Trust, to plan for the establishment of North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts "North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts,". Hurley writes that they appreciated Wright's support in obtaining the planning grant, and would like to invite Wright to be a guest for lunch and an executive briefing on the project at the Pinnacle Club, Interfirst Bank Building, June 17, 1987.

Reynolds has enclosed items that they thought would be of interest to the Center, The Mind's Eye, an annual publication of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, which includes writing and artwork from levels of the schools. Also sent to the Center is a letter Bill McCarter and Jack Davis has received from Senator Robert Smith, of Mississippi, a request for support for music and art curriculum in the state of Mississippi.

Davis is happy to share with Wright a copy of a letter to the Getty Center for Education in the Arts for the North Texas Regional Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts, "North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts" (NTIEVA), which has been funded. Davis writes that they will begin work immediately to get the steering committee organized and to get the first conference meeting going. Davis ends the letter saying that with Wright, he is confidence that can put together a successful proposal for an implementation grant.

In regards to enclosed HEB ISD check for the participation in the 1992 summer institute program for North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Schronk writes that she would appreciate the total cost for the 1993 and the 1994 institute for HEB as soon as possible so she can start planning to get outside funding.

Kelly writes that due to the program not meeting all requirements the request was not approved. A stamp notes that the document was received on November 5, 1990.

The vision statement details the consortium's mission, to empower teachers, parents and students to explore and examine and experience the broad expanse of human ideas. The vision statement describes the programs developed by the consortium as ways to accomplish their goals, services that include professional development programs, maintenance and renewal programs, technical assistance and more.

A document containing the agenda for an NTIEVA Advisory Committee meeting. It lists the time and location for the event and the speakers. The overall theme of the meeting appeared to be connections between groups in the program.
