Everyone wears a hat, and some people hold snow in their hands or up to their mouths. A photographer's inscription at the top of the railway car reads, "No. 5 Aug 21, 1911 / On Pikes Peak Alt. 14147FT." The photograph is mounted to a black cardstock, which has an inscription on the back reading, "Miss Annie Belle Emery 1911," and she is denoted on the image with a question mark at the bottom of her jacket. The back of the board also has printed texts about the Manitou and Pike's Peak Railway, and the photographers imprint "J. F. Hiestand, official photographer."

At the bottom of the photograph is the photographer's inscription reading, "R.E. 1st Grade / Vickory School / Nov 1918." The photo is printed on a cream colored board, and the shape of the photograph is an oval with points coming out towards the top and bottom left and right corners. On the back of the photograph is an inscription with names of students numbered by row, and "Teacher - Miss Gage - later - Mrs."

Photograph album documenting the Allen Family road trip to visit the Berg Family in Illinois. Dr. Frances Daisy Emery Allen, Frances Marion Allen, Sheila Emery Allen, Annie Belle Emery Bright, and Sue Lottie Emery traveled together by car. Several of their overnight stops were at outdoor campsites. Many of the photographs are labeled with white handwritten inscriptions.
