Early edition of Heidi by Johanna Spyri, translated by Helen B. Dole. The cover of the book is made of a light green fabric with darker greens for the title, names, and illustrations. The illustrations on the title are in two parts, one which is flowers is boxed in with the title and the names of the author and translator. The other illustration is set above the title in another box and shows a forest of evergreen trees in front of some mountains. Nestled in the trees is a small cabin. On the title page is the title of the book as well as the names of the author, translator, and publishers. Also on the title page are notes handwritten in faded pencil about the illustrator and publisher. On the opposite page is a black and white illustration captioned: The hut of the Alm-Uncle."
